We have a variety of different groups here at St Mary's There are usually two or three home groups running  at St. Mary's. The groups meet for Bible study and prayer on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

During Lent there is  usually an ecumenical Lent course organised by Datchet Churches Together,  which meets at various times and venues

Other Bible Study groups include the 'Mix and Match'  which meets the first Wednesday of every month and then the group goes to the Communion Service at St. Mary's. , and it is lucky to have the Rev. Robert Spicer to lead the discussion.

The Rose Cottage Bible Study is held in Rose Cottage. The current study is on Isaiah, the evening includes Bible reading, discussion and prayer. We meet on alternate Wednesdays at 7.45pm. We will be taking a break from Isaiah in the Autumn in order to run a seven week course called 'Christianity Explored'.

Christianity Explored - a brand new ecumenical  short study course  on a Wednesday evening. This will be held at the Baptist Church Hall and will be open to anyone who wishes to attend, the evening will include a meal and time for  discussion. The course commences on 12th September, please contact Robin Wilding the Baptist minister if you would like to attend – robinwilding@datchetbaptist.org.uk or 01753 586254.

Alpha groups have been held at The Bridge in 2016 and 2017. Prior to that there was an Emmaus course run at the Vicarage.

Datchet Mothers' Union

St Mary’s the Virgin, Datchet has a lively and active Mothers’ Union, which is part of the Burnham and Slough Deanery. We have a significant role in the life of St Mary’s and are involved in services and the Baptism Visits Programme. Part of our programme is intended to raise funds for charities, both in the UK an overseas, which the Mothers’ Union supports, and also to involved and support families and family life.

We have a varied social programme, and have garden coffee mornings, evening garden parties, trips to local restaurants and an annual trip to a cathedral city. We usually have a presence at local events in Datchet, and the M.U. staff is always very sociable and a hive of activity.

Meetings are normally held on the third Thursday of the month, starting at 7.45pm, in the Bridge Coffee Shop. After refreshments and the business part of the meeting, guest speakers talk on a variety of topics, such as: ‘Child Protection’, ‘An illustrated talk on a visit to a foreign country’ or ‘The work of a chaplain in a women’s prison.’ We are always very pleased to welcome visitors and new members, and copies of the annual programme are available at The Bridge Coffee Shop.

During 2018 we are celebrating 130 years of Mothers' Union within the diocese of OXford
